On July 1, 2010, The Chamber Board and Staff presented Peco Facet with the prestigious honor of being named Member of the Month. Peco Facet has been a great industrial partner with the Chamber and City for many years. We were treated to a phenomenal surprise, Peco Facet is voluntarily submitting, to the federal government, an instrument that will soak up the oil in the gulf coast. Thank you Peco Facet for giving Mineral Wells something else to be proud of in these tough economic times. On June 3, 2010 the Chamber Board, Ambassadors and Staff presented Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home with the Chamber Member of the Month Award. Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner has been a pillar in this community for countless years and they have also been a very loyal supporter and dedicated friend of the Chamber. The Chamber is proud to announce Best Western Club House & Suites has been selected as the May Member of the Month. The Chamber Board and Staff would like to thank Best Western for their community support and dedication on the Tourism and Ambassador Committees. Best Western’s support of Chamber programs includes being the sponsor for the Quarterly Business After Hours which will take place May 11 with a Barbeque and Luau Networking Event. We thank this wonderful accounting firm for the years of dedication and support it has given to the Chamber. Congratulations Crawford, Carter & Thompson we appreciate all of your hard work and endless hours of service to our community. The Chamber is pleased to announce that the City of Mineral Wells has been named Member of the Month for March. Under the leadership of Mayor Mike Allen and City Manager Lance Howerton, the city is moving forward with development of a fossil park and has been an excellent partner with the Chamber on the Shop Local and Win promotion and two upcoming bicycle races. The Chamber also commends the city for making every effort to redevelop the historic Baker Hotel. On February 1, 2010 the Chamber congratulated Bealls Department Store for being named February Member of the Month. Bealls has been a pillar in this community offering clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes and gifts for the entire family. Bealls was a key supporter in the Shop Local and Win promotion, ensuring everyone had their cards stamped and were entered to win the shopping spree. Pictured are Manager Ann Burns and staff. On January 4, 2010, the Chamber congratulated Perri Leavelle of Perri Leavelle Design with the January member of the month honor. Perri has donated countless hours creating and designing a new tourism logo, an advertising campaign, and creating the Christmas Market and Christmas Experience design work, which is being featured through out the state. We appreciate Perri Leavelle Designs for all the hard work and talent in making sure tourist know to “COME VISIT MINERAL WELLS TEXAS WHERE OUR HERITAGE IS A LITTLE BIT CRAZY.” On December 2, 2009, The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce presented the Mineral Wells Index with the Member of the Month Award for December. The Mineral Wells Index has exemplified superb coverage of the happenings in Mineral Wells with special attention to the Chamber’s ribbon cuttings and Christmas Experience Shop Local and Win Promotion. The Chamber appreciates Editor David May and Publisher Mel Rhodes and the Index staff for their support and endless efforts in keeping us all on top of the News. On November 3, 2009, members of the Chamber Board of Directors, Leadership Mineral Wells Class 15 and Executive Director Beth Watson, presented Choate Electric with the November Member of the Month Award. Choate Electric, located at 204 S.E. 4th Avenue, has been a member of the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce since 1959. The business was established in 1955 and specialized in Electrical Wiring. With the times changing, it quickly branched out to include air conditioning and heating, helping make Choate the successful business that it is today. This family owned business has survived the test of time because their motto is “Put customers first.” With their superior customer service, Choate Electric is ready, willing and able to handle all of your heating and cooling needs. On October 1, 2009 the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce surprised Ken Williamson and his staff at First Financial Bank with the October Member of the Month Award. We thank First Financial Bank for their continued support of the Chamber and the Community of Mineral Wells. With their generous donations and marquee promotions First Financial Bank has proven themselves to be a pillar in this community. September Member of the Month, Hill’s Style Shoppe, a North Texas tradition in ladies fashion, is celebrating over 63 years in operation. The store is currently operated by Margaret Hill Colton. Her father and grandfather established the store in 1946. Numerous honors hang on the walls in recognition of the family’s service and charitable work. In 1996 Margaret was nominated for the prestigious Texas Family Business of the Year Award. She is currently serving as Mayor Pro Tem of the Mineral Wells City Council. On August 7th Elliott and Waldron Abstract Co. was surprised with the Chamber Member of the Month Award. Presenting the Award were Annette Bennett, Brian Shoemaker and Bobbye Estes of the Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber Director Beth Watson and Leadership Mineral Wells Class 15 members Ken Johnson, Susan Retana, and Brian Bennett. Chamber Chair Elect Annette Bennett presented ONeal Distributing Keg 1 with the Chamber Member of the Month recognition for July.
