The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce seeks a Tourism and Special Events Coordinator. The right candidate is a self-motivated professional capable of overseeing and implementing the Chamber’s aggressive tourism objectives. Under the direction of the executive director, the Tourism and Special Events Coordinator conducts advertising and marketing campaigns, updates two tourism websites, develops brochures, works with tour operators, coordinates special events, solicits tour groups and corporate meetings, and attends travel shows, among other duties.
Minimum qualifications and requirements: A bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, communications, or a related field, or an equivalent amount of professional experience. Must be able to work in a small office requiring collaboration and cooperation. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Some lifting. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn industry specific software, is required.
