Lake Mineral Wells State Park and TrailwayLake Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway has something for everyone. Along with camping and picnicking, the lake provides swimming, boating and fishing. The Penitentiary Hollow area is a challenge for rock climbers of every level., and the park trails and State Trailway provide hiking, biking and equestrian opportunities. The State Trailway is 20 miles long, stretching from historic downtown Mineral Wells to Cartwright Park near Weatherford, with other access points at the State Park and in the town of Garner.
Little Rock Schoolhouse MuseumThe Little Rock Schoolhouse Museum was erected in 1884 and was the first public school building in Mineral Wells. Now the schoolhouse is a museum devoted to the preservation of the historical memorabilia of the city of Mineral Wells. Tours by appointment only.
Old Jail MuseumThis old sandstone jail building was built in 1882 in Palo Pinto. Currently it displays a variety of dated artifacts of Palo Pinto County. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Group tours available.
